"5. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up" (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, NKJV).
Summer is near and the school year will soon come to a close. Christian Schools are a wonderful ministry and a great opportunity for a Church to reach out to the surrounding community. But is it enough ? These verses make me think even more about the true meaning of Christian Education. It is not always formal education. It's talking about casual education. The discussion you have with your kids and grandkids, during the course of our typical days. It comes spontaneously. And it's a discussion where they can bounce things off you that they have learned in the world. We all have the chance to listen and teach the children around us about how important God is in our lives. Look for those opportunities.

Hey Bill,
Good post! You are so right! I agree; Christian School is not enough. We have to use every opportunity we can.
